Emlen Physick Estate – Cape May, New Jersey

New Jersey tourism can offer a wide array of different things to see and do but one of those that will keep you interested is a tour of the Emlen Physick Estate in Cape May.  This house was completed in 1879 for Emlen Physick Jr., his mother and maiden aunt.The house is the “Stick Style” Victorian style with gigantic upside-down corbelled chimneys, hooded “jerkin-head” dormers, and the huge stick-like brackets on the porch.  Sitting on the porch you will be able to enjoy the fabulous garden that has been created to add to the experience.The inside of the house will show you the distinct signature of Furness (designer/architect), who designed much of the interior molding, fireplaces, and even furniture. Many original furnishings are on display throughout the house.
