Foreclosure News: Slow Down in Foreclosure Auction Sales in Santa Cruz

According to foreclosure news in Santa Cruz County, California, auction sales declined by 25.3 percent during the third quarter of 2009 when compared to the preceding quarter. However, more than 500 default notices were issued during the third quarter, which represented a 12 percent increase when compared with the third quarter of 2008. In the whole state of California, the mortgage lenders that issued the most number of default notices for the third quarter of 2009 were Countrywide with 7,583, Washington Mutual with 5,146, Wells Fargo with 4,425, and Wachovia with 4,237.
