The Importance of General medicine to a Podiatrist
Is there anything that a podiatrist must know about general medicine? Well of course they need to know a lot. A lot of general medical problems can have there first symptom in the foot or lower limb, so the podiatrists may be the first to suspect something may be not right. They need to know a lot as a lot of well-known general medical problems do affect the foot. This is especially true of the common conditions such as diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. They also need to know a lot as they treat patients for foot problems who also have general medical problems. They need to assess if that problem affects their lives.
