Page rank and search engine ranking software
Google has created a method to rank pages of your website. Page Ranking was developed to give more credit to pages with original content that the search engine believes will be more beneficial to internet browsers. Therefore, a page about skin cancer with a lot of content would receive a higher page ranking than a page that has three sentences about skin cancer and maybe some links to products. So, as your web site is indexed, Google will assign a number between 1 and 10 which determines the importance of that page. A good search engine ranking software will show you how many links are coming back to your web site, but more importantly the page ranks of the pages with the links. So, how does that affect the search engine ranking, you ask? Well, if you have back links to your site with a page ranking of 4-5, then, your site will be viewed much better than a page linking to your site with a ranking of 1 or 2. The goal with marketing to Google is to have as many links back to your site from pages with high page rankings as possible.
