If You Renovate, You Should Insulate
We bought a great old house with lots of rooms and lots of character. You can tell that over the years, past owners have done extensive renovations on the house. They moved walls, added walls, bumped up the roof line, added windows, all sorts of things. The one thing none of them seemed to worry about was proper insulation. Now we have to go through the house and add retrofit insulation everywhere that it is needed. Believe me it is needed everywhere. Outer walls, the attic, basement and windows are all leaking warm air. To me this will be the best renovation of all.
