Undertanding Koans The Iron Flute
Reality can not be constructed, it is already there, already complete in the here and now. Reality does not need any help, but we may need some help in coming to a clear understanding of everyday reality. One of the books that has help me to get beyond prefabricated answers to the questions reality poses is called The Iron Flute. While no book not even The Iron Flute can give you understanding of reality it can point out a few sign posts on the path to finding your own understanding of the here and now. The Iron Flute is a collection of koans paired with a nice collection of commentaries that have been put together by teachers who have studied Zen for many years.
